A Life

The whole school enjoyed some amazing workshops with A Life this week!

We learned lots about healthy living, include how to eat healthily, how much water to drink, how to eat less sugar and why smoking is bad for us.

We all also took part in fitness workshops and learned how to keep our bodies healthy with exercise.

Smiley Reward – the Farm

This week, the whole school has enjoyed seeing the animals at the farm!

There were lots of different animals to see, from chickens and ducks, to sheep and alpacas. The children all learned lots about the animals, how to look after them and where food comes from.

Every child who filled the front of their smiley card and who shows good behaviour in school was able to attend the smiley reward.

Work Related Learning

Yesterday, we held our annual Work Related Learning summer fair!

There were loads of stalls selling items made by the children, and each stall was based around a country.

Lots of delicious food was sold too, and there were many different games to play.

What did you like best about Work Related Learning?

Y5 and Choir Music Assembly

Today we have enjoyed our fabulous music assembly! Year 5 showed off their amazing drumming and brass skills that they have been working on all year.

We we were delighted to enjoy a performance from our Halliwell Hooters. These children have had extra tuition in brass instruments and have built up their skills over the year.

Finally, we were treated to Choir showcasing their talents as they sung ‘Deep Down In My Soul’ and ‘This Is Me’.

Well done to our fantastic, talented children and thank you so much to all of our parents who could come to watch and support.

Here are some of the highlights of the performance:

Cricket

Well done to our amazing Upper Key Stage 2 Cricket team, who won their cricket match against Gaskell Primary School!

An extra special well done to the children who were given awards for Bowler of the Match and Batter of the Match.

Thank you to all the parents who attended to help cheer the children on.

Smiley Reward – Military Boot Camp

The whole school has had an amazing time at our Spring 2 smiley reward!

The Military Boot Camp returned and we enjoyed the huge inflatable obstacle course outside on the astro turf!

We also took part in team building games.

Check out the individual class blogs for more photos and information.

Autumn 2 Smiley Reward – Pantomime

What an amazing afternoon we have had at Oxford Grove! We have enjoyed a performance of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ as our annual pantomime.

Well done to all of the children who earned enough smileys to fill the back of their first smiley card and attend the pantomime.

We are all now working towards our next smiley reward in February – keep it up, everybody!
