Y5 and Choir Music Assembly

Today we have enjoyed our fabulous music assembly! Year 5 showed off their amazing drumming and brass skills that they have been working on all year.

We we were delighted to enjoy a performance from our Halliwell Hooters. These children have had extra tuition in brass instruments and have built up their skills over the year.

Finally, we were treated to Choir showcasing their talents as they sung ‘Deep Down In My Soul’ and ‘This Is Me’.

Well done to our fantastic, talented children and thank you so much to all of our parents who could come to watch and support.

Here are some of the highlights of the performance:

Choir at St Lukes

Since the start of the year choir have been working hard every Friday morning before school with Mrs Hudson. Yesterday we visited St Lukes for a very special performance. Our Oxford Grove choir wowed the audience with beautiful singing of a range of Christmas songs and carols and everyone was swaying along with a smile on their face. This is what Christmas is all about!

KS2 Music Assembly

Today, we have enjoyed music performances by Year 5 and the School Choir. Every year, Year 5 have the opportunity to learn to play the djembe drum and a brass instrument, led by specialist music teachers, Mr Bamford and Mr Dunkley. They were able to show off the skills they have been learning all year to their parents.

One of the songs they performed was Mammia Mia – combining the skills of brass, drumming and singing:

SMILEY REWARD! Zulu Nation

What an amazing day we have had at Oxford Grove!

The fabulous dancers from Zulu Nation came into our school and gave three amazing performances!

They also completed workshops with some of the classes, teaching them how to play African music and sing African songs.
