Art Parent Morning

This morning, parents were invited into school for our Art morning.  Miss Bimson spoke to parents in the hall to explain how art is taught at Oxford Grove and then parents could then visit their child in class, to observe art teaching.  Parents got the chance to observe a range of different art skills and techniques as well as see the children chanting key vocabulary. Our governors also attended to monitor the quality of teaching and learning within Art. We would like to say a big thank you to all of our families who attended this morning!

On the Art workshop, I was very excited because art is my favourite subject. Not only that, but I’m also part of Art council, so I helped Miss Bimson with Key Vocabulary words in the art morning with the parents. We sketched a drawing of Medusa, but it was a side portrait so I found it a bit hard since I’ve never done any side portraits before. Our parents came in and looked at how we do art in Oxford Grove. We learnt some new key things in art and some of the parents did too.

This morning parents were invited into the school to talk with Miss Bimson of how art is taught in Oxford Grove. Parents got to learn a lot about our art lessons and what we do in them. My class ( 5J ) drew a picture of Medusa. Medusa has snakes as her hair! And her pictures look evil!

I had really fun, we got to use our art skills to try and sketch Medusa, a snake monster. It was so fun, even our parents had a try at sketching Medusa. I think everyone tried hard and did really well! 🙂

Today our amazing art council came up in assembly to show all of the parents which classroom to go to. Our parents got to come in to school today to see how we get taught art in our school. The art council lead them to where they had to go so that they could make sure that they went to their child’s classroom. I enjoyed having my mum come in as we got to both have a try drawing Medusa, our topic, it was very fun and I enjoyed having my mum come in to see me and my class doing art. Thank you Miss Harvey for letting our parents and guardians come into school.
