Turning Disability into a Possibility

Today we have had a very special visitor at our school. Bart came to share his story with us and help us to understand what life might be like for people who live with a disability. At a very young age Bart was told he would never be able to walk, run, jump or do any physical activities but he overcame the odds and learnt to swim, cycle, drive and even play musical instruments!

We loved hearing about Bart’s adventures and it has inspired us to continue working hard to achieve our own personal goals no matter how hard they may be.

This is really important. We shouldn’t ever disrespect anyone because they have a disability, this can cause hatred and disunity. Everyone should understand how to respect others who have disabilities and we all should be grateful

I think it was such a great idea for the school to invite Bart as a special guest to speak to the kids about his struggles and how he overcame them. Hearing first hand about the challenges he faced will not only inspire the children but also teach them the importance of respecting others who may have difficulties. It’s a powerful way to help them understand what people with challenges go through in their daily lives and foster empathy and kindness. This kind of experience is invaluable in shaping compassionate and thoughtful young people.

Today an amazing lady came in to talk to us all about disabilities. We got taught that we shouldn’t discriminate against people that have a disability as it could lead to them being self conscious . No one should have to feel like that as we are all equal and should be treated the same. Thank you Miss Harvey for making sure that we all know about disability’s and why we shouldn’t discriminate against them.
