Smoothwall Online Safety Workshops

Thank you to all of the families who attended our parent/carer online safety workshops today! Lyndsey worked with families to lead discussions on how to support children’s online lives, how we can manage children’s accounts and how to start conversations on keeping safe online.

Children in Year 5 and Year 6 also worked with Lyndsey to look at their own understanding on online safety, specifically focusing on misinformation and the use of AI.

Our Digital Leaders worked after school with Lyndsey to develop and deepen their understanding of different areas of online safety, including health and wellbeing, managing online information and online bullying.

I think it was great that the school held an online safety workshop! With technology constantly evolving, it’s so important for both kids and parents to stay informed about the online world. This workshop is especially helpful for parents who might not fully understand the technology their kids are using. It gives us the tools and knowledge to better protect our children and guide them through the digital landscape safely. It’s reassuring to know the school is taking steps to keep everyone up to date and ensure our kids are using technology responsibly!

Today a lady from smooth wall ( called Lynsey) came in to talk to us all about online safety. Lynsey showed us the websites that we should go on and the one that we shouldn’t. She told us that there are age groups for certain websites such as social media ( a version of social media is snap chat). Lynsey even ended up talking to our parents to tell them what we should go on and how to make sure that we are safe online . Thank you Lynsey for coming in to teach us all about online safety and a huge thank you to Miss Harvey for giving us all of these amazing opportunities!
