Today we had our Year 6 SATS parents’ meeting. Miss Jarvis and Miss King explained to parents how the SATS work, what is tested and how Oxford Grove will help children get ready for them. We discussed the SATS timetable and what each paper tests and how the papers are structured. Also, we discussed how Oxford Grove prepares children for these papers including time spent in lessons, boosters and online learning.

This afternoon we had an assembly where our parents came in so that our teachers could talk to them all about our up coming SATs. When we got there Miss King and Miss Jarvis talked to them all about how important it is to be coming in on time so that you don’t miss any valuable learning time. They also talked about when our SATs are. We have our SATs in may then we leave in July. We have also talked about how important it is to be coming to all of the booster clubs that our school offers for year six. They are completely free and it will help your child very much.
After school, our parents came in for a meeting with the teachers to discuss how SATS are going to work and what type of questions there we’re going to be. This really helped me so I know what I am going to learnt so I can study at home so I will be prepared for my SATS. This also helped my mum a lot because she can help me study at home and she knows what is going to happen when I have to sit my test. My mum would like to say thank you to all the teachers for doing this.
For our Sats the we have done clube like English booster club and maths booster club. We also learn new methods and target words in English and maths. We also get homework where we recap punctuations and different types of questions in maths.
Good luck on your SATS.
