This morning, we have launched our fundraiser for this term, a spellathon! We are raising money for The Book Trust UK. Today, your child brought home a sponsorship form, a list of their new target words to learn and a letter explaining the key details of the spellathon. On Wednesday 2nd July, your child will do a spelling test on their new target words to see how well they have learnt them. You can sponsor your child for every word they spell correctly, or for simply taking part in the spellathon. The sponsorship money needs to be brought into school on Wednesday 9th July. Good luck Oxford Grove, let’s do this!

Today at the spellathon we did our words for charity ( book trust ) , so we did the spellathon there were 20 questions. After the spellathon I got some right like according and accommodate.
It was the spellathon and first I was nervous but when we did I started to get a bit more calm but it wasn’t that bad because when we did and the teachers marked it I got all of them correct and I was so proud of my self and I didn’t no how much we gave for charity but I am excited when they say how much we give to the charity and can’t wait to do it again but probably it gets trickier!
Today was the spell at hon and I was sweating I was so scared I wouldn’t get over even 20 but surprisingly I actually did get at least it was still really fun I actually liked it I know I not that good a spelling but I gave it my all. I hope you guys are good at spelling .
I practiced every day for the spell at hon and got 24 out of 25 I spelled determined wrong.
For these seven days we have been practicing our spelling for a spelling tests and when we done our spelling test I got full marks. It was surprisingly amazing.
The spellthon was a really good opportunity to learn our year 5 spellings.
This year we have a spellathon to raise money for the book trust UK. All of the children took home a form so that you can sponsor them. You can bring in the money on the 2nd of July all the way up until the 9th July. I can’t wait to do all of my spellings and I hope that really soon we can all start to do it. Who sponsored you ?
