Today in computing we were learning about online harm. We talked about lots of different examples of online harm, such as someone being threatened and someone being pressured to do an online challenge they didn’t want to do. If I was in the situation where the girl was getting threatened to do a challenge then I would’ve just blocked them and tell a trusted adult and just never have done the challenge.

Today in computing we have been learning about how some things and people on the internet can be harmful. Harmful can mean lots of different things like being hurt, bullied or teased. We learnt about different examples of online harm. Here is an example, Sarah’s friend sends a an embarrassing picture to another friend. This could be harmful because it could spread bad rumours about Sarah and this could hurt them a lot, even though there was no physical touch. Sarah could have been bullied all because of that one picture. This can be solved by telling Sarah what had happened and to not share the picture. Then the person needed to block the person messaging them and tell a trusted adult.

Harm means bullying, abusing or targeting someone online. Today we learnt about 5 different scenarios and the one that I thought was the worst is where someone was sending messages to a innocent person saying “haha you idiot” than that child said “who is this” the bully then said “you better watch your back…..im coming for you”. If I was in this situation I would say ‘who are you’ and ‘why you being mean to me’ if they just decide to be even more mean then I would block them and tell someone. If situations like this happen then you always need to tell a trusted adult or someone you trust.

Today we learned about online harm. We learnt that people on social media can be very abusive and upsetting sometimes, but there are also some ways to fix the problems that people make. We learnt about different examples of online harm. An example of it was a person saying I’m coming for you to another person, which is very harmful. The way to fix this problem is first you definitely should block their number and tell a trusted adult and if things get worse call the Police immediately so the problem gets fixed. If any mean people are bothering you on social media and they make more videos about you on YouTube first, press block, then if they post another video then press, not interested so it doesn’t come up. This could happen anywhere online and you should tell a trusted adult or someone you know quickly about this situation.

Today we learnt what harm means and what dangerous things can sometimes happen online. We learnt that harm means getting hurt such as being targeted and bullying online. We learnt about different scenarios such as, in a text message, one of the people was getting threatened which is unacceptable and dangerous because it said ‘watch your back’. They might be scared to leave there house and worried wherever they go. If I was in this situation I would not engage, just tell a trusted adult and they will report it and if it gets worse tell the police.

This computing lesson is a really serious one. We learnt about different scenarios regarding about messages online and how you can fix them. The first scenario was about 2 people on a game and one of the users asked the other user how are you, etc and the user then asked if they can both talk in private which is extremely inappropriate and dangerous and then asked how old the other person is. The user replied saying he was 11 whilst the other person was 17. This scenario was extremely dangerous because first an anonymous person were cyberbullying to someone and secondly because there was a physical threat include in the messages by saying ‘watch your back- I’m coming after you.’ Fixing both of the problems I would block and report on the first scenario and tell a trusted adult and for the second one I would quickly tell my adult, block and report just like the first one.

Today we learnt about harm online. Harm means something that is really dangerous or could hurt someone else. Lots of harmful things can happen on the internet unless you are careful. It is really important to stay safe online and not to be rude or disrespectful because you might hurt someone and there might be a chance you will get banned. Harm means to abuse someone by hurting their feelings or hitting them. Please never do this ever in your life because you will get banned if you are hurting someone online or you will get told of by a teacher if in school. If there is a person you are chatting online that asks you your age, do not answer the question! The best choice is to block and report them because they might be older than what they tell you. Then you can tell a trusted adult who can help you to keep safe.

Today we learnt about online safety and how some things online can be harmful. Harm means something dangerous or something that could hurt someone. For example, if someone you don’t know added you on any social media app and you accept it but then they texted you and said horrible stuff about you and they are older then you it could be really dangerous. If I was in this situation I would unfriend them and I would tell a trusted adult like my teacher, my mum, or my dad. If the situation gets worse and you didn’t tell a adult that you trust, then you will get more worried and scared because imagine a stranger said something like I am coming for you!
