Today Year 5 had our final workshop from Fort Alice. We learnt today all about rules and laws and how this relates to healthy relationships. We recapped some laws in the UK and talked about the age of criminal responsibility. Next, we learnt about the difference between rules and laws. We learnt that laws are rules where if you break them there are legal consequences that are decided by governments. Then we learnt about Jamie’s story. We learnt about how domestic abuse can impact people’s behaviour in school and how important it is to talk to trusted adults when we are worried. What did you learn Year 5?

Today, Year 5 had our final workshop from Fort Alice. We learnt all about rules and laws and how this relates to healthy relationships.
I liked this workshop because it taught what to do if someone is fighting and all the emergency numbers just in case we are in that situation. We learnt to always talk to trusted adults and ring 999 if it is an emergency.
I really loved this workshop because l got to learn what to do if you are in a bad situation. We also got to learn about the laws and school rules and how they are different. We also got to learn about people’s story like Jamie’s story, where her dad used to hurt her mum so she told a teacher and her teacher is her trusted adult in that story.

And now I know all about keeping myself safe!!
Today we did the Fort Alice Workshop where we learnt about domestic abuse and violence and what to do if someone is physically hurting someone or call the police.
This lesson was really important because we had to learn bout the the laws and how to keep ourselves safe. We learnt not to ever be afraid of telling the police if you are in danger. You can also tell a trusted adult if there is no calling devices nearby.
