Today, Oxford Grove had our Art Open Morning, where our parents could come in to see what we have been doing in our Art lessons. In Year 5, our parents came in to help us with our Medusas! We RRR’d techniques to draw facial features in proportion and practised our shading techniques. Then we applied what we had learnt to draw our own Medusa. Thank you to the parents who attended. What did you learn Year 5?

Even though I am really bad at art I tried my hardest and it turned out gorgeous.
Oxford Grove had our Art Open Morning, where our parents could come in to see what we have been doing in our Art lessons. In Year 5, our parents came in to help us with our Medusas! We RRR’d techniques to draw facial features in proportion and practised our shading techniques. Then we applied what we had learnt to draw our own Medusa.
For art morning, first everyone practiced shading with every pencil ( HB, 2B, 4B and 6B) then we sketched Medusa and everyone did a very good job and tried really hard.
In this lesson, we had our parents come in, they came to look at our art and we drew Medusa. Medusa is a scary monster that has snakes on her head and with just one look she will turn you into stone.
When our parents were in, we were doing an art workshop. First, we got a sheet with shading already on them and we tried doing the same technique. Then we used them on our Medusas!
Today, we had our Art open morning, with some of the parents coming to see our year 5 Art lesson. We RRR’d techniques to draw facial features with the correct proportions.
I loved this art workshop because of how fun it was and I also really enjoyed how we got to see each others art work too!
We were learning about the different types of drawing, sketching and shading and then we drew Medusa.
I loved this workshop because my mum came and sketched Medusa with me! First we sketched then we shaded with (4B hb 2b 6b)
This art morning , our parents came to a parents morning and it was really fun!
Today we did an art workshop some peoples parents came in but my didn’t well I don’t mind really . First we did the date and the learning objective then we did the RRR. Next we did all the shading practise then we did the main part it was drawing Medusa (if you don’t know Medusa then medusa is a Greek monster in the Greek time). So first I sketch the head shape and it was perfect then I did face of Medusa then I did the snakes it was wonderful I felt like an artist it was amazing.
Today we had our Art Morning where we were drawing Medusa, a Greek monster but before we did our sketch we learned the different techniques such as cross hatching, ink wash, contour hatching, random hatching and dippling. Then we used these techniques to sketch our Medusa, we could choose what personality the Medusa could have, either the Medusa was going to be either it was scary, ugly or pretty. I really enjoyed sketch my Medusa, I was very proud with it.
I learned that there were a lot of different shading types to use on art. We all just needed practise to just draw the Medusa and then after we drew her 2 or 3 times, we are already experts at drawing! I could have never known that I would have been this good at art. This lesson really helped us with shading our Medusa.
Oxford Grove had an open morning and it was about art. Everyone first practiced shading with all of the pencils we had,(HB 2B 4B and 6B). We sketched a Medusa model for the third time and our classes and mine were very realistic in shape.
WOW! This looks amazing Y5. I heard that you were sketching Medusa out (famous figure in Greek mythology). Also you sketched then shaded with 4B HB 2b 6b. I can’t wait to sketch Medusa!
I loved this workshop because art is the best and we learnt about different types of shading and also mediums.
The sketch was fantastic and we even sketched Medusa which was amazing!
In art morning we had parents coming to see our art lesson. We did drawing and sketching. Sketch is a rough drawing outline and we have different ways of sketching like hatching, contour hatching, spilling, cross hatching, and hatching. We use different pencils for shading in HB for sketching 2B, 4B and 6B for shading
