Today we had our geography open morning and our parents joined us to see how we learn geography at Oxford Grove. We RRR’s our key terms from our previous lessons and recapped using our world maps to label continents and oceans. Then we started learning about the USA as part of our North America topic, labelling the USA and learning more about the different states. Thank you to all parents who joined us! Which state did you research Year 5?

I loved this workshop because when we were doing geography our parents came in!
It was the best experience, my mum was with me in a lesson! It was interesting and fun.
It was incredibly because I was doing Alaska and Alaska is the biggest state in the USA.

This was an experience! We had some parents join us for our lessons. The parents could help us with our learning as they probably already learned all the things we learned today. I tried my best to impress the parents and the teachers of course.
The parent workshop was really fun when the workshop started we did a quiz I thought I would lose but I got all of the questions correct. And then we got to get some colours and put a tiny dot and named states in the USA.
This workshop was brilliant because I learned and I even taught my mum new things! She was impressed because of my actions and writing and how I knew the equator, the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn.
I researched about Texas. Sadly, my mum didn’t come but this geography morning was nice!
