Today some of our Year 5 pupils took part in a new festival hosted by Bolton School.
The children at Bolton School led us in various activities — teaching us the basics of lacrosse: how to hold the stick, pass, catch and even some simple drills. Our Year 5s threw themselves into it with enthusiasm, learning new skills and having lots of fun.
It was a brilliant opportunity not only to try a sport many of us had never experienced before, but also to spend time in a great setting and to meet new people. Thank you to Bolton School and their pupils for making us feel so welcome!

I love lacrosse because it is a very fun game. I once went to a lacrosse competition but sadly lost. This competition is very hard so I hope you had fun. This competition also is to do with how you use your stick.
Well Done to Year 5.. you did a great job
Year 5 took part in a festival by bolton school. They learned the basics of lacrosse. They did passing and catching. Lacrosse is a fast-paced team sport where players use netted sticks (called crosses or crosse) to catch, carry, pass, and shoot a solid rubber ball into the opponent’s goal, combining elements of soccer, hockey, and basketball. Originating from Indigenous North American tribes, it’s known as “the fastest sport on two feet” and involves skill, agility, strategy, and physical contact, with different versions like field, box (indoor), and the Olympic “sixes” format.
