Today, some of our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils took part in a netball festival hosted by St Joseph’s. The festival gave our pupils a brilliant chance to try something new: from basic passing and shooting to team play and understanding netball positioning. They had the opportunity to work as a team and enjoy sport in a fun, supportive environment.

Netball is a fast-paced, non-contact team sport where two teams of seven players pass a ball to score goals by shooting it through a hoop, similar to basketball but with unique rules, including player movement restrictions based on court zones and positions, and no dribbling. The goal is to outscore the opponent by getting the ball into their goal circle, with only designated shooters allowed to shoot. It emphasizes teamwork, passing, and strategy, with players unable to run with the ball and needing to pass or shoot within three seconds.
