DT – Cooking

Before the summer holidays, Year 5 made samosas as part of our food topic in DT. We learnt the different methods to chop vegetables, such as the bridge and the claw method, and learnt how to chop and peel safely. We really enjoyed trying our samosas! As part of our DT unit, we have also been learning about the ingredients in our samosas and where they came from, including whether they were grown, reared or caught. Now, we know how to make healthy food and the importance of eating a balanced diet to stay healthy. Why is it important to eat a nutritious and healthy diet Year 5?
