Hello Nursery! Our Winter Wonderland competition ends on Monday 01st of December – Be sure to get your amazing creations in to school for a chance of winning a prize! 1st prize – Small Outdoor Trampoline. 2nd prize – Large Activity Craft Box. 3rd prize – Story Book. All entries will receive a small prize. All your winter wonderland creations will be added to our “reading garden”. Our reading garden changes with each season and we will be transforming the area and the display into a “winter” theme. This week our story of the week is “Goldilocks and the three bears”.
We have had so much fun telling the story using the story props!
We have even been using the words “big” and “small” and have been ordering bowls and spoons according to size!
Our story of the week this week is “Owl Babies”!
We have been making lots of different marks this week and we used these marks on our owls to create their feathers. We used lines, circles and zig zags!
Today we had a very special visits from a very special helper! Firefighter Mike talked about all the different ways he helps people!
We even had a look at the special clothes he has to wear to help keep himself safe!
Today in Nursery we have been talking all about our feelings. Miss Brewer told the children that “chatterbox” was feeling unhappy. The children suggested that maybe he could play with a friend of a toy or maybe he could have a hug.
We read a story all about “faces” and then we practised making different faces when looking in the mirror. Miss Brewer had a very good silly face all the children laughed! We practised making a sad face, happy face, silly face and sleepy face.
This week in Nursery we have been very busy! We have been practising our gross motor skills using robbons! We made circles, zig zags and up and down movements!
Our story of the week this week is Elmer! We have been learning all of the different colour names! Today we practised matching coloured counters to Elmers different coloured spots!
We had lots of fun and at the end of the lesson we knew all of our colours!

Today we have been painting different people who help us! The Nursery have also been told about a special visitor that is going to be coming to see us very soon!

Today we mat Charlie (puppet). He was sad because his hands were very dirty. The Nursery children helped him by showing him how to wash thier hands! Miss Brewer showed us a special trick. We put some glitter in the water and pretended they were germs. When we put soap on our finger and put our finger in the water the glitter / germs moved away! It was like magic!
