Looking after Chicks

Over the past two weeks we have had some very special visitors to look after in Year 2! After half term we came into school to find ten little eggs. Over the next few days we watched them hatch and start to grow their feathers and learn to walk. It was amazing to see them hatching from their shells on the ‘Chick Cam’! This has really supported us with our science topic for this half term and we have a really good understanding of animals and their offspring.

When they were big enough we took turn to hold them and give their little heads a stroke!

I loved holding the baby chicks they were so fluffy I wanted to kiss it but they were a bit dirty but over than that as soon as I holded the chick it felt like life changed I wish I could take them home with me!

It was important to hold the chicks carefully because we could hurt them or injure their body and they were cute.

It was so fun holding their head and petting them because their head was fluffy.
First they started as eggs and then they became a chick and then a chicken.
