Thank you to all of the families who were able to attend our reading morning – ‘How we teach Reading at Oxford Grove’!
We looked at phonics and how this progresses through Year 1, when children are ‘learning to read’. Then we also looked at comprehension – how children use ‘reading to learn’. The children used different stories to answer questions, looking at listening comprehension and also using key words to answer literal retrieval questions. Everyone did a fantastic job and it was so much fun having our adults in school to help us!
