Today, 1 Oxford visited Bolton Museum to explore Bolton’s past. We saw art that showed what Bolton was like hundreds of years ago, and even sang a nursery rhyme that’s over 100 years old!

We sorted objects into hoops, comparing things from today and things from 100 years ago. We discovered that some toys, like teddies and marbles, haven’t changed much at all. Then, in teams, we went on a scavenger hunt around the museum. We found old toys, vintage swimming costumes, and even bars of soap that people used to wash with.

To finish up, we got to handle and play with some real toys from the past. What was your favourite toy from the workshop?

I really enjoyed going to the museum!
