Online Safety assembly

Today, Year 6C performed their fantastic class assembly all about Online Safety.

The children told us about all about the SMART rules for online safety, and how to keep safe on computers, phones and other devices.

They even did a quiz at the end to see how much everybody had learned.

Online Safety

The internet has changed all of our lives, particularly our children’s. For parents and carers this opens up a whole new world of things to be aware of. For many of us, this can all be a bit too much.

You might be struggling to keep up with the things your child is doing online, you might wonder whether what they are doing is safe. ( ) The internet can be a fantastic place for children and young people where they can talk to friends, be creative and have fun. However, just like in the real world sometimes things can go wrong. If you or your child are worried or upset about something which has happened on the internet there is help out there. ( )

In this area you will find links to websites and resources we use in school, to teach the message of how to stay safe online and how to cope when things do not quiet feel right.

What does OFSTED say…
  • Schools to work closely with all families to help them ensure that their children use new technologies safely and responsibly both at home and at school.
  • Schools to provide an age-related, comprehensive curriculum for e-safety that enables pupils to become safe and responsible users of new technologies.
  • Schools to systematically review and develop their e-safety procedures, including training, to ensure that they have a positive impact on pupils’ knowledge and understanding.
