Maths

This week in maths we have been learning all about how to add mentally and how to recognise numbers in different representations. We first looked at how we would normally write numbers and then practised how to write numerals in words and in base ten.

Some of the children have also been practising how to add 2 digit numbers with 1 digits and 2 digit numbers by 2! Next week we are going to be looking at how we use the column method to add bigger numbers.

We have been having a lot of fun and have enjoyed learning in 4J. Keep working hard!

Can you answer these questions?

Matt Goodfellow

Today Matt Goodfellow came into school and worked with us on writing our own poems. He also performed some of the poems he has written.

We had lots of fun and learned a lot about poetry. Some of his poems were very funny and some were very sad.

Matt encouraged us to write in our own voices.

Write a comment below about what you learnt in the poetry workshop.

Geography- All about Liverpool

In Geography this term we have been learning about Liverpool. We have enjoyed researching about the Docks and Liverpool One.

We learnt that the docks are one of the oldest places that Britain has been trading from. We also learnt that Liverpool One has over 140 shops and restaurants.

Next week we are going to research Naples so we can compare what the similarities and difference in the physical and man made features in the two different destinations.

What is your favourite fact about Liverpool and what else would you like to find out?
