Today we have completed our first Science investigation in Year 1! We really enjoyed putting on our super scientist lab coats and using the equipment. We have been learning about different materials and looking at what materials are used to make different objects. Today we investigated which materials are absorbent – this means ‘soaks up water’.
We took turns in our group to use the pipette to drip 3 water drops onto our chosen material. Then we watched to see if the water would soak into the material. We noticed that some materials were very absorbent, some were a little absorbent and some were not absorbent at all. We discussed and recorded our results afterwards.
