Reception have had such a fun time learning about the journey of growing up as part of our ‘History’ topic! The children have learned about the different stages of our life, from being babies to toddlers, children, teenagers, adults and finally elderly! We even had a go at making our own timelines!
To show just how much change can happen in our lives, the children played a game of ‘Guess Who’ using baby pictures of themselves and their friends to see if they could recognise themselves. The children enjoyed a few days of this game, swapping and changing the baby pictures around each time. We even included some pictures of their familiar staff members in school and some pictures of their parents too!
A big thank you to everyone who helped make this wonderful game possible.

Reception have been learning all about what one more or one less of a number is! The children know that to add ‘one more’ makes an amount bigger and to take ‘one less’ makes it smaller. We investigated this with lego towers, ‘one less’ bingo and exploring dominos!

On their first day back, reception have been learning all about winter using a non-fiction text. They explored what the weather is like in winter, what clothes you need to wear, what celebrations happen and which animals we see in winter! Well done Reception!

Reception have loved having the opportunity to put on an amazing Christmas Nativity Show for their families this term!
The children worked so hard to learn song lyrics, matching actions and even some narrator lines too – and the show turned out to be absolutely brilliant. We, as a whole school, are so proud of each and every single one of them – just as I’m sure you are too.
Amazing job, Reception!

As part of our PSHRE topic, Reception enjoyed discussing and comparing their talents, hobbies and interests as part of our celebration of what makes us all unique! We all have our own talents and special activities that we like to do and that is all part of what makes us individual.
We celebrate our differences and always enjoy hearing about other children’s own special talents too!
