Nursery Reading

Mrs Hart was super impressed with the Nursery children’s reading this week. You have made so much progress since I last heard you read. I am looking forward to teaching you next year in Reception and building on your reading skills from this year.

You are very good at listening to stories and we will share some exciting stories next year also.

Eid

This week some of our families have celebrated Eid. The children were very excited to tell their friends all about their celebrations. We looked at the special Mendhi patterns on their hands. We had a go at some patterns ourselves on paper hand prints.

Today we had an Eid party, it was so much fun. We played lots of games and did some dancing. The children had a great time.

Eid Mubarak to all our families celebrating this week.

Our visit from the dentist

Today we had a visit from a lady at the oral health department, she told us she was a dentist and knew all about healthy teeth. We have had lots of fun helping to brush the puppets teeth. We know that eating healthy food and drinking milk and water helps our teeth stay strong and clean.

We had a go at brushing our own teeth in Nursery. Our teachers were very proud of us. We have a toothbrush and toothpaste to take home with us.

Remember to brush your teeth twice a day!

We have been talking today about some very special visitors who we hope will visit us soon. We can’t wait to meet the Ofsted inspectors. We would like them to look at our special books and see what outstanding progress we have made this year! Our teachers and parents are very proud of us and we hope that Ofsted are too!

Minibeasts

This term we are learning about minibeasts. We are really enjoying this topic. This week we have been developing our fine motor skills using the tweezers to catch pretend bugs. We have had lots of fun, we even tried to scare our teachers.

Can you remember how many legs a spider has?

The governors

This week in Nursery we have been talking about people that work at our school. We know there are the headteachers, teachers and children, but who else helps us at school?

We know that some teachers are leaders in different subjects at school. Miss Roberts is the subject leader for Religious Education throughout school. Each subject is linked with a governor. The link governor is Mrs Livesey.

We also have a link governor for Nursery this is also Mrs Livesey.

Mrs Livesey helps to make our school a wonderful place to work and play.
