Once Upon a Dream

Image result for young writers once upon a dreamWell done to all the children who took part in the Young Writers’ Once Upon a Dream poetry competition. This is the 25th year that the competition has been run and they received in excess of 25,000 entries! We are very proud to announce that a number of poems written by you have been chosen for publication. The winners include:

Zulu Dancers

Today, we have enjoyed our first Smiley Reward of 2016-2017! The whole school enjoyed watching the Zulu Dancers perform in assembly, in the morning and in the afternoon.

We also took part in special workshops with the Zulus in our classes, singing and dancing to their amazing music.

Book Day at Oxford Grove

Today we have enjoyed lots of activities about books!

Our teachers have shared their favourite books with us – we all really enjoyed hearing about why they liked their books!

Emma from Bolton Central Library came to visit Years 2 to Year 6 to talk about her job as a librarian. She told us all about how to use the library. She also read some stories and got us to talk about them together.
