Year 4 Art

In Year 4. we have learnt lots about Lowry who was an artist that lived in Salford in the 1800’s. As part of our History, we have also been learning about Samuel Crompton. Both of these people lived during the Industrial Revolution. We were lucky to work with an artist to help create an industrial display outside of Year 3. It looks amazing!     The industrial revolution was the rapid development of industry that occurred in Britain in the late 18th and 19th centuries, brought about by the introduction of machinery. It was characterized by the use of steam power, the growth of factories, and the mass production of manufactured goods.

    I loved doing this it was so fun but I got all sticky and that wasn’t that so fun but it was awesome

    That they were remembered because they made a lighthouse and it was important

    Laurence Stephen Lowry was an English artist. Many of his drawings and paintings are of Pendlebury, Lancashire, where he lived and worked for more than 40 years, and also Salford and its surrounding areas. Samuel Crompton was an English inventor and pioneer of the spinning industry. Building on the work of James Hargreaves and Richard Arkwright he invented the spinning mule, a machine that revolutionised the industry worldwide.

    My favourite part was painting the sculpture . And l also Ioved getting sticky glue
    and I wish I could do some more sculptures.
