Smiley Reward!

We really loved this half terms smiley reward! We had to work together as a team and some of the activities were really tricky. Well done everyone for filling your smiley chart, meaning you could take part in this fantastic opportunity.

Year 4’s trip to Chester!

On Friday we went on our first trip of the year to Chester! We all had so much fun and learnt so many more amazing facts about the Romans! We visited the museum where we got to experience life in the Roman times by going underground a real excavation site! We also got to march around the streets of Chester, visited the amphitheatre, watch a gladiator battle (between the teachers!) and experience what would happen if you lost! What was your favourite part of the day Year 4?

Here are some pictures from the day:

Year 4- IQM

At our school, we have lots of awards which we are very proud of. One of the awards is the Inclusion Quality Mark! We were so amazing at this that we got the centre of excellence!

This award means that everybody at our school gets a fair chance, is included and that we understand the importance of equality and diversity.

What does this look like in our school?

Year 4 Music Project with Mr Bamford!

On Thursday, we got to take part in a music project with Mr Bamford one of our music teachers. We learnt 3 performances in our class and then performed them altogether with 4M at the end of the day. What did you enjoy about the workshop?

Roman Numerals! Cross-curricular

As part of our cross-curricular Maths we learnt about Roman numerals! We made posters for our display and signed up for the Roman army by writing our age, height and weight in numerals.

Can you remember some of the rules when writing in Roman numerals?

Year 4 Roman Invasion!

On Wednesday, Year 4 were invaded by an army of Roman soldiers led by the cruel Sergeant Stockton!  We learnt what it was like to experience an invasion and even though we found it quite funny, we learnt that a Roman invasion wouldn’t have been any laughing matter! We also thought about whether or not invasions are a thing of the past or if they still happen now. We reflected on and discussed what wars are going on in the world today and how lucky we are to live in a safe place and come to such a beautiful school.

Can you write a recount about what happened on that afternoon?

Here are some pictures from the invasion!

Miss Longmore’s favourite book

Today in school all of the teachers shared their favourite books. My favourite book is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. I really enjoyed reading this story as a child and I also enjoy watching the film version of this book. All the sweets and chocolate makes me wish that I could visit Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory one day! Miss White also shared her favourite book which is Lord of the Rings. She loves this book because it is fantasy. This is her favourite genre of book to read.
